  Results of the 2018 Global Survey of Jehovah's Witnesses

  it's long overdue, i know, and i apologise profusely but it's tough working full-time and trying to spend time on all the ex-jw work that i want to do...... that said - here are the 2018 survey results for anyone interested and i am already working on the 2019 results.

  also, i'm tweaking the survey for the 2020 release which will be soon..... hugs to all!.

  Bringing Reproach on Jehovah's Name

  all my jw life i was reminded constantly about the importance of not bringing reproach on jehovah's name.

  decisions on whether or not to disfellowship an individual often turned, not on the seriousness of the sin, but on whether the incident was public knowledge and had resulted in bad publicity for the congregation.

  i recall a middle-aged lady being reported to the elders for shoplifting a sweet worth less than £1- and the elders' insistence that a judicial committee must be formed because the store manager and staff knew that she was a jw (i successfully argued that all she needed was support for her dreadful family life, but that's another story).

  Is it me or is John Cedars channel becoming a self important circle fest

  i still like the commentary on the jw.org monthly’s, i can skip through some parts.

  but it seems like he is pushing too hard to put out videos and the quality is getting very low on the content..

  For me also. If all on this board were as zealous (and as articulate as Lloyd), the exJW community would make tremendous strides toward awakening loyalist JWs to their plight.

  Covid-19 (Coronavirus) - Status Update Thread

  this topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.

  latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.

  the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

  If Covid-19 is not a live virus, then how can you kill it?

  It looks as if you can physically and mechanically remove it from your skin by washing. However, it then proceeds into the drain and eventually the sewage system.

  If it's not live, then what mechanism makes it inert?

  Does spraying public places help -- and how -- if it's not alive?

  Countries that shut down very early and very thoroughly probably still have all their pain ahead of them.

  Interesting, Cofty. Are you saying that such countries are merely postponing the inevitable?
